Applications open for East Hampton Town Police Department’s 2024 Citizen Police Academy

East Hampton Town Police Department is now accepting applications for its 2024 Citizen Police Academy. This experiential learning opportunity is open to all who reside in the Town of East Hampton and are over 17 years of age.


The 10-week program allows participants to learn about all facets of law enforcement, with presentations ranging from crime scene investigations, special victims, laws of arrest, the Unmanned Ariel Systems Unit, the emergency Services team, the Dive team, virtual firearms training, DWI investigations and traffic stops, use of force, hate crimes and domestic violence.


“We encourage residents to join us for this unique experience designed for East Hampton Town

community members to gain greater insight into law enforcement and a working knowledge of

the values and operations of the East Hampton Town Police Department,” said Supr.

The free program runs for ten sessions, meeting 1 to 2 times per week from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. between March 20 and May 22, 2024.
